Reviews

  • 1 to be avoided

Surly staff...it's like they are doing you a favour serving you!Below average 'thai' cuisine that is practically thrown onto the table! The only time they seem attentive is when it's time to pay!!To be avoided!

  • 5 Wonderful food & service

I am quite surprised to see the other reviews for this restaurant. I have visited Bath twice in the last few months and each time have dined at the Thai Balcony. Admittedly, the entrance to the restaurant leaves something to be desired, but once inside the decor is beautiful. Each visit has been truly excellent - service was second to none. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and were very friendly. The food was out of this world. The sirloin steak was beautifully cooked as was the chicken. Everything was tasty without being too spicy. The wine is also excellent.A great little find!

We love it here, the food is always good, the service friendly and efficient and the price is never too high. Love the room as well. A favourite with us.

  • 1 oh dear

The venue itself was very nice - in the centre of Bath next to the theatre royal but the service was rather lacking - the gentleman although nicely dressed didnt really understand our order and had to repeat a few times which is not a problem.Where there was a problem was the food - the chicken and lemon grass soup tasted like corriander soup with bits thrown in for colour. The main deep fried squid came out as chinese style with green pepper in black bean sauce. It would be ok if the price was cheap but this was far from it. People used to good quality food should not come to somwhere where the dishes taste like they have been taken from the freezer and microwaved. In the area there are much much better - Yum Yum Thai is literally accross the road and Yakity Yak Nepalese is just down the road - I would recommend either of these or even a burger from one of the vans outside. This place gives a bad name to the resaurant scene in the area - avoid at all costs unless you have no taste buds !
